<div dir="ltr">The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMT) invites applications for two tenure-track,
Assistant Professor positions in Hydrology. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences, Civil
Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field at the time of appointment. For the first
position, we seek candidates with interests in flow and transport in porous and fractured media,
hyporheic zone studies, vadose zone hydrology, hydrogeophysics, and/or hydrogeomechanics. For
the second position, in hydrochemistry, we seek candidates with interests in aqueous geochemistry
and isotope hydrology or contaminant hydrology. For both positions, potential for excellence in
teaching and research are the most important qualifications. Responsibilities will include developing
an active program of extramurally funded research, supervising and supporting M.S. and Ph.D.
students, teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses, and service to the Department,
Institute, and at the national/international level. <div><br></div><div>NMT specializes in science and engineering education and research and has a present enrollment
of approximately 2200 undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidates will join
the Earth and Environmental Science Department, which consists of 16 faculty and about 50
undergraduate and 70 graduate students. The department has strong programs in Hydrology,
Geophysics, Geology, and Geochemistry and has a history of interdisciplinary research. Additional
geoscience professionals on campus include over 30 staff members of the New Mexico Bureau of
Geology and Mineral Resources, plus faculty and researchers in the Petroleum Recovery Research
Center and the IRIS PASSCAL Instrument Center. Analytical facilities on campus include the stateof-the-art
New Mexico Geochronology Research Laboratory (40Ar/39Ar), a stable-isotope
laboratory, electron microprobe, XRD, ICP-MS systems for trace-element analysis (including a
laser-ablation ICP-MS), fission-track and cosmogenic isotope facilities, and soil chemistry lab. </div><div><br></div><div>Applicants should submit a letter of interest, CV, statements of teaching and research interests, one
