flow of ice sheets. Available data include ground-based and airborne ice-penetrating radar data from East Antarctica aimed at understanding the deepest layers. These data have been collected by researchers at Lamont-Doherty, the Center for Remote Sensing of
Ice Sheets (CReSIS), and NASA Operation Ice Bridge. The successful applicant will be encouraged to develop research ideas aimed at analyzing these data with the aid of mathematical techniques, including modelling of ice flow and radar-wave propagation. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
