ECMWF carries out scientific and technical research directed to the improvement of its forecasts, collects and processes large amounts of observations, and manages a long-term archive of meteorological data. Satellite and in situ observations provide the information for up-to-date global analyses and climate reanalyses of the atmosphere, ocean and land surface.

For details, see www.ecmwf.int/.

3. Summary of the role

The position is in the Earth System Modelling Section of the Research Department. Moreover, the successful candidate will diagnose whether differences in ensemble forecasts between single precision and double precision versions of the model are caused by the representation of model uncertainties.

Through this work, she or he will actively contribute to the development of improved configurations of stochastic model uncertainty representations available in the IFS model.
<span style="font-size: 9.0pt;
