and storm surge and climate impacts. As part of a well-established modeling team in coastal ocean modeling, selected candidate is expected to apply advanced coastal ocean models, such as FVCOM, HYCOM and ROMS, to simulate various coastal ocean phenomena and
understand the effects of hydrological and atmospheric forcing on coastal processes. Specifically, the candidate will set up model(s) to simulate tidal and coastal circulation in Pacific Northwest and Alaska Coasts to support marine renewable energy project
funded by the Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO), as well as macroalgal modeling project funded by Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) of U.S. Department of Energy. The candidate is also expected to participate in the model code development
and modification for coupled modeling system and specific parameter outputs (e.g., turbulence and energy flux).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
