<b>Visiting Assistant Research Scientist, Geophysicist</b> to develop and sustain a geophysical research program using near-surface seismic geophysical methods to contribute to multi-discipline research programs within and beyond the Prairie Research Institute.
This position, which <b>may become a regular, non-visiting position at a later date</b> depending on funding and programmatic need, is based in Champaign, Illinois.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Garamond",serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Garamond",serif">Qualifications include a Ph.D. in geophysics, geology, engineering, or a related discipline that is appropriate with major duties and responsibilities as well as experience in
experience in geophysical methods. Preferred qualifications include expertise and knowledge of using seismic geophysical methods for near-surface explorations, with primary focus on shallow, unlithified sediment characterization, and secondary focus on deeper
sedimentary basin and structural characterization associated with carbon storage and natural resources.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
