The Department of Soil, Water, and Climate at the University of<br>
Minnesota (U of M) seeks a faculty member with strong expertise in<br>
climate science and a passion for public engagement and for<br>
communicating climate information to key stakeholders such as<br>
agricultural producers, natural resource managers, industry, the<br>
broader public, and policymakers.<br>
<br>
Appointment and Position Description<br>
<br>
This is a nine-month tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant<br>
or Associate Professor with duties divided between Extension (60%) and<br>
Research (40%). The position is in the Department of Soil, Water, and<br>
Climate on the flagship Twin Cities campus of the U of M. Applications<br>
are encouraged from candidates with expertise in any relevant area of<br>
climate science, such as meteorology, climatology, atmospheric<br>
chemistry, hydroclimatology, hydrometeorology, etc.<br>
<br>
The appointee will be expected to develop an extension program to<br>
communicate critical climate and meteorological information useful for<br>
decision making, and to develop a locally, nationally, and<br>
internationally recognized research program related to climate<br>
science.<br>
