Specifically they are looking for someone to establish an active research program in Ocean Observatories, Ocean Acidification, or both. Applications due on May 15, 2018.</div><div class=""><a href="https://fhl.uw.edu/research/postdoctoral-research-fellowship/" class="">https://fhl.uw.edu/research/postdoctoral-research-fellowship/</a></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Please help me share this opportunity for a promising young scientist to conduct independent research within a supportive academic environment. Friday Harbor Labs is located in the idyllic San Juan Islands. FHL is part of the University of Washington’s College of the Environment with many faculty spending time between both locations. In my experience, FHL postdocs take advantage of resources and faculty expertise at both locations.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">One of the unique opportunities is that Friday Harbor Labs (FHL) recently installed a cabled observatory with deep and surface nodes that will monitor carbonate system parameters (pH and pCO2) as well as a host of other exciting data (including a FlowCytobot). On land, the Ocean Acidification Environmental Laboratory includes 16 computer-controlled mesocosms supported by a staffed marine chemistry lab with DIC coulometer, ALK, and spectrophotometric pH.
