<p style="line-height:13.6pt"><span style="color:#004F8E">The Lowell Institute for Mineral Resources (<span class="caps">IMR</span>) Coordinator, Educational Outreach incumbent will work directly with the Co-Directors, researchers and collaborators of the Institute.
 There are currently 14 employees of the <span class="caps">IMR</span>, however the <span class="caps">IMR</span> works with over 50 affiliated faculty and researchers spanning 6 colleges across campus.<br>
Although housed in the Lowell <span class="caps">IMR</span> Office which is in the Mines and Metallurgy Building, the Coordinator, Educational Outreach will also coordinate with the Business Center for the Department of Geosciences and the Lowell Institute
 for Mineral Resources, located in the Gould-Simpson Building.<br>
The Lowell Institute for Mineral Resources brings together a unique breadth of faculty and students to tackle challenges critically important to society’s use of earth materials, then brings game-changing solutions by world-class collaborative research and
 by training industry professionals through onsite courses, field training and distance learning. This <span class="caps">IMR</span> partners with stakeholders around the globe and has educated professionals from over 2 dozen countries.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

 and post-mining land use. <br>
• Encourage students to pursue careers in the mining industry and inform them about the mining engineering and geology program at the UA, and available scholarships. Facilitate contact with high school teachers by keeping a database of teachers and their contact
 information that we can use for sending them information.<br>
• Incorporate research findings and programs into materials presented to students and teachers wherever and whenever appropriate. Incorporate outreach materials created by UA when and where appropriate.<br>
• Design hands on activities for K12 students, instructors, and the interested public to help them understand the formation, uses of, and extraction processes for minerals.<br>
• Collaborate with UA student mining and geology clubs that also do outreach. Share activities and information that they can use with students and provide them with information on your program that they can share with teachers and parents.<br>
• Maintain an Outreach website under the <span class="caps">IMR</span> website (www.imr.arizona.edu). <br>
• Link content presented at schools to the state and national education standards. <br>
• Assist in designing summer experiences for students at high school level as time and budget permits. Coordinator is not obligated to coordinate or teach summer camps.<br>
• Meet with the Science Foundation Arizona <span class="caps">STEM</span> staff, Flandrau/UA Mineral Museum personnel and other UA museum personnel regarding collaboration opportunities. This will include collaboration with Eastern Arizona College on their <span class="caps">GEAR</span> UP
 program.<br>
• Attend local, regional, national, international meetings to promote the Lowell <span class="caps">IMR</span> outreach program and to obtain new outreach materials.<br>
