<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">scientist whose work addresses fundamental topics in the area of the physical oceanography of</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">estuaries and coastal seas. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, ocean-atmosphere</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">interactions, ocean mixing processes, sediment transport processes including quantitative</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">geomorphology, land-ocean interaction, polar/fjord dynamics and interdisciplinary studies that</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">couple physical and biogeochemical processes in estuarine and coastal environments. The</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">candidate would be expected to leverage the extensive resources in the Department in ocean</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">observing and numerical modeling in developing a grant-supported internationally recognized</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">research program. Articulating a vision of how the candidate’s research program would foster</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">collaborations within DMCS and across Rutgers is strongly encouraged. The candidate is also</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">expected to mentor graduate and undergraduate students in their area of expertise, and to</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">continually strive for excellence in graduate and undergraduate education through both teaching</p>

<p style="margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; font-family: Helvetica; ">and mentoring. A PhD in Physical Oceanography or a closely related field is required with</p>
