The scientific objective is to improve the understanding of processes controlling air-sea gas exchange.</div><p style="margin: 6px 0px 3px; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';" class=""><b class="">Project Description</b></p><div style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';" class="">Turbulent air-sea fluxes of carbon dioxide will be measured using the eddy covariance technique from a discus buoy. The project involves analysis and testing of sensors in the laboratory, the UNH deep dive tank, and deployment for field trials in the Gulf of Maine. The successful student will process and analyze data using Matlab, Python, or similar software, present results at scientific conferences, and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Motivated students with an interest in geophysical fluid mechanics, turbulence, and air-sea CO<sub class="">2</sub> exchange are encouraged to apply. </div><p style="margin: 6px 0px 3px; line-height: normal; font-family: 'Times New Roman';" class=""><b class="">Qualifications Desired</b></p>
