<p>The Catchment Hydrology and Spatial Analysis lab
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.hooriajami.ucr.edu/">http://www.hooriajami.ucr.edu/</a>) at the
University of California Riverside (UCR) led by Dr. Hoori Ajami,
invites applications from
prospective PhD students interested in pursuing research in
Catchment scale hydrologic modeling
in the Department of Environmental Sciences
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://envisci.ucr.edu/">http://envisci.ucr.edu/</a>). <br>
</p>
<p>The focus of the projects is
on: 1) understanding surface water-groundwater interactions at
large catchment scale in
California using the integrated groundwater-land surface model
(ParFlow.CLM), and 2)
developing computationally efficient modeling approaches for large
scale catchment
simulations using the newly developed Soil Moisture and Runoff
simulation Toolkit (SMART). <br>

<p><b>Qualifications:</b> Applicants must hold a BS degree in
Hydrology, Environmental Sciences/Civil
Engineering or related disciplines. <br>
</p>
<p><b>Skills: </b>The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative
skills and excellent oral and written
communication skills. Previous experience in hydrologic modeling,
computer programming and
GIS are preferred. <br>
