<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_quote"><div lang="EN-US" link="#0563C1" vlink="#954F72"><div class="m_8123067122349095540WordSection1"><p>The Environmental Isotope Laboratory and the Geosciences Department at the University of Arizona is looking for a post-doctoral scholar to assist in the development and implementation of a new laser absorption instrument for the measurement of clumped isotope
ratios in CO2 derived from carbonate samples. The hired employee will work with engineers at Aerodyne Research Inc. refining and testing a prototype Tunable Infrared Laser Direct Absorption Spectroscopy (<span class="m_8123067122349095540caps">TILDAS</span>) system for clumped
isotope measurements in CO2. The hired employee will receive extensive training in optical systems, quantum cascade lasers, and laser absorption technology. Success in this position will require a self-motivated and independent researcher with a passion for
instrumentation.<u></u><u></u></p>
<p><b>This position will be located at Aerodyne Research Inc., in the Boston area, for the first 12 to 18 months. After this first phase of employment, the Post-Doc will relocate to Tucson, Arizona, to assist in the development and testing of an automated system
for processing carbonate samples. </b><u></u><u></u></p>
<p>We are seeking to fill this position as soon as possible, ideally before the end of 2017.<u></u><u></u></p>
<p>This position is fully funded by <span class="m_8123067122349095540caps">NSF</span> and the Environmental Isotope Laboratory and may continue after a two year term, contingent on performance and continued funding. Initial temporary job location is noted in grant.<u></u><u></u></p>
