to climate adaptation<i>. </i>The appointee is expected to establish a competitively funded research program to address critical or emerging issues in climate change and new weather extremes impacts. The appointee will be responsible for teaching both undergraduate
and graduate classes. These could include severe and unusual weather (ATM 10), weather analysis and prediction (ATM111), climate change (ATM5, ATM116, and ATM245), climate dynamics (ATM241), and/or new courses on topics related to weather extremes and climate
adaptation. Participation in departmental and university service is expected. <o:p>

Post-doctoral experience is preferred. Evidence of research excellence is expected. The candidate should have the ability to develop and instruct undergraduate and graduate courses and the ability to develop and conduct extramurally funded research in new
weather extremes. A candidate with a willingness to build relationships with relevant State of California and federal agencies is desired.
