<p style="margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;color:black">The Office of the Vice President of Research supports an electron microanalysis laboratory built around a Cameca SX100 microprobe as a core research facility of the
university (<a href="https://ors.ou.edu/Microprobe/OUEMPLHome.html">https://ors.ou.edu/Microprobe/OUEMPLHome.html</a>). This includes a fully funded, twelve-month annual staff position as Electron Microprobe Operator. That position is now open until filled
with a starting date of October 1, 2017, and no later than January 1, 2018. Duties include daily operation of the microprobe and sample preparation for all clients, daily lab maintenance, periodic instrument maintenance (filament, roughing vacuum, etc.), coordinating
major service with Cameca engineers, scheduling and bookkeeping of usage by clients, billing and payments, and an annual summary report of laboratory activity.</span><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif;color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;color:black">Minimum qualifications for the position include a master's degree in geosciences or a relevant discipline and some experience in electron beam methods of analysis
and microprobe operation. Applicants must submit (1) a cover letter that includes career goals and prior experience in electron microprobe analysis, (2) a CV that includes employment history and responsibilities, (3) complete transcripts of baccalaureate and
master's degree courses, and (4) letters from two individuals who are qualified to comment on the suitability of the applicant for the position.</span><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif;color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
