<p>We are searching for a bright student to join our team for an
applied research internship in seasonal climate prediction for
cocoa in West Africa. Proposed in joint guidance by Rockwinds and
the IRD, this internship is well suited for students between their
1st and 2nd year of Master's program, who are comfortable with
computer programming (the internship will include a fair amount of
coding) and with an interest in Climate Science.</p>
<p>Duration: Minimum 2 months</p>
<p>When? Flexible starting date</p>
<p>Where? Rockwinds headquarters, in the center of Bordeaux, with a
minimum stay of 2 weeks at Université Félix Houphouët Boigny of
Abidjan (UFHB) in Ivory Coast.</p>
<p>Practical information: Housing costs and salary according to
internship convection will be covered by Rockwinds</p>

<p>About us:</p>
<p>Rockwinds is a cocoa trading company based in Bordeaux. In an
innovative approach, Rockwinds is invested in a research effort in
climate sciences in order to improve its capacity to predict
climate evolution and its effect on cocoa production in West
Africa (source of 70% of the world's cocoa production) and to
position itself at the forefront of knowledge in this domain. An
international team with an open, dynamic spirit, we aim to obtain
high-quality results in a positive, enthusiastic atmosphere. You
will work in close collaboration with Dr. Alina Gainusa-Bogdan,
Rockwinds scientific researcher in Climate Sciences.</p>
<p>The French National Research Institute for Sustainable
Development (IRD) is a key stakeholder in research for
development, wherein Climate Sciences represent a domain of strong
interest and extensive expertise. Based in Ivory Coast, Dr. Arona
Diedhiou, IRD researcher and internship co-supervisor, is in
charge of climate change research and the development of climate
services through joint programs between France and Ivory Coast. </p>
