<p class="MsoNormal">California Air Resources Board’s (ARB) Research Division has an opening for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic researcher with proven expertise in air quality and emissions measurements and analysis to join the Emission and Exposure Research
Section (EERS). The Section is responsible for the design, implementation, and analysis of critical in-house research studies to evaluate the emission behavior and air pollution and exposure impacts of a wide variety of emission sources (on-road light- and
heavy-duty vehicles, ships, oil and gas activities, landfills, dairies, etc.), and also manages ground-breaking research efforts through extramural research studies and research collaborations with various national and state research labs. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The selected candidate will be responsible for initiating, designing, and conducting a variety of air pollution research studies, including air pollution source characterization studies and their impacts on regional and local air quality
and personal exposures, as well as verification of GHG emissions inventory through source-based emissions research. Extensive experience in conducting experimental field studies, analyzing large datasets, statistical and numerical analysis, and some modeling
expertise in air quality, exposure, source apportionment and similar applications are desirable.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The selected candidate will have opportunities to participate in large-scale experimental field studies using state-of-the-art measurement and analysis tools like ARB’s state-of-the-art mobile measurement platforms, high fidelity air pollution
and GHG research analyzers, and portable and low-cost air quality sensors to study real-world emission and exposure impacts of various emission sources. The Section is currently managing a variety of important research studies, including the California Statewide
Methane Survey, emission flux estimation and inventory evaluation studies for local and regional GHG emission sources, personal and community-level air pollution exposure studies, and motor vehicle and transportation source emissions research studies. The
selected candidate will also have the opportunity to advise the agency on the impacts of adopted rules, prioritize source sectors for research and air pollution mitigating efforts, publish and present research findings at scientific venues, and build strategic
