to tackle important global issues that focus on sustainability, energy and the environment and is forming a research institute focused on the interface between sustainable energy and environmental 1em;padding:0px;word-wrap:break-word;text-align:justify">Jointly with the Faculty of Science and Engineering, we wish to appoint seven University Research Fellows that have proven abilities to undertake independent and/or collaborative research programmes to support and strengthen its mission and contribute to the academic leadership of at least one of the following research areas:</p><ul style="margin:0px 0px 1em;padding:0px"><li style="margin:0px 0px 0px 1.5em;padding:0px">Environmental sensors and systems</li><li style="margin:0px 0px 0px 1.5em;padding:0px">Surfaces and coatings for hostile environments</li><li style="margin:0px 0px 0px 1.5em;padding:0px">Wind turbine blades: materials, structures and advanced manufacturing</li><li style="margin:0px 0px 0px 1.5em;padding:0px">Offshore wind array modelling optimisation and control</li><li style="margin:0px 0px 0px 1.5em;padding:0px">Fault -tolerant control and dependable systems engineering for hostile environments</li><li style="margin:0px 0px 0px 1.5em;padding:0px">Coastal zone sediment dynamics </li><li style="margin:0px 0px 0px 1.5em;padding:0px">Aquaculture in coastal and marine environments</li></ul><p style="margin:0px 0px 1em;padding:0px;word-wrap:break-word;text-align:justify">The Research Fellows will embark on a 5-year fixed term structured-research development programme aimed at supporting the transition of the research staff into full academic careers; developing their own independent research ideas and skills that are necessary to establish themselves as the next generation of research leaders. Each Fellowship will be provided with a Research Support Fund (£12k per annum) to cover essential research costs.</p><p style="margin:0px 0px 1em;padding:0px;word-wrap:break-word;text-align:justify">We welcome applications from candidates that hold substantive fellowships (e.g., EPSRC Early Career Fellowships, Royal Society University Research Fellowships and European Research Council Starting Grants) that can be brought to the University of Hull and can thus be extended in length.
