<div dir="ltr"><div>Dear all,</div><div><br></div>The American Geosciences Institute will be hiring two interns this summer in our Geoscience Policy and Critical Issues programs - see below for more details of each. The internships are based in Alexandria, VA (just across the river from DC), run for 12 weeks, and come with a fixed stipend of $5000. You must be a U.S. citizen and enrolled in, or have recently completed, a geoscience or geo-related bachelor's or master's degree program to apply. <b>The application deadline for both internships is March 15th.</b><div><br></div><div><a href="https://www.americangeosciences.org/policy/internships-and-fellowships#PolicyInternship">Geoscience Policy Internship</a> - the Geoscience Policy program represents the geoscience community in Washington DC, and actively works with Congress and federal agencies to foster sound public policy in areas that affect geoscientists, including water, energy, and mineral resources; geologic hazards; environmental protection; and federal funding for geoscience research and education. AGI seeks outstanding geoscience or geo-related students (undergraduate or master's) and recent graduates with a strong interest in federal science policy. The program makes geoscience information more discoverable through our web-based information products, webinar series, forums, and research database. AGI seeks outstanding geoscience or geo-related students (undergraduate or master's) and recent graduates with a strong interest in state and local science policy, science communication, and outreach. The Critical Issues intern will develop geoscience-based content for the program's website and help to expand our network of state and local decision makers. Interns will hone their research, writing, web-publishing, and communication skills, while gaining a first-hand understanding of science policy from the federal to the local level.
