development of improved climate services in one or more of these
fields: climate observations; climate dynamics and modelling;
climate predictions, projections and scenarios; dynamics and
statistics of extreme weather/climate events; and quantifying the
impacts of climate variability/change to inform the development of
adaptation and mitigation policy. A central focus is the use of
models and data to better understand changes in climate, its
variability and extremes, and how such changes impact society.
