new High-Resolution Chemical Ionisation ToF-MS (HR-CI-ToF-MS) with a special designed inlet to identify and quantify organic molecules both in the gas and particle phase. This is a novel method that is rapidly growing in importance within atmospheric chemistry.
The use of HR-CI-ToF-MS has also many applications outside the field of atmospheric chemistry making an expert in this field very attractive for further challenges.</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; color: rgb(72, 72, 72);" class=""><br class="">
<span style="background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;" class="">The basic idea of this project is to apply a molecular approach to understand the chain of processes relevant to oxidation of organic compounds
in the atmosphere with implications for organic aerosol formation. The organic aerosol is one of the least known fractions of the atmospheric aerosol and there is an urgent need to better understand its behavior in order to facilitate modelling descriptions
