        Department of Earth Science, University of Bergen, (</span><a

        style="color:rgb(0,0,0)">) in analytical geochemistry linked to
        ICP-MS and MC-ICP-MS techniques.</span></p>

    <p style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt"><strong><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0)">Work
          tasks/area of research/teaching: </span></strong></p>
    <p style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt"><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0)">The
        position is intended for an active researcher in
        geochemistry/petrology with an interest in deep sea research.
        Preference will be given to candidates with good knowledge and
        experience in mass spectrometry techniques, including for
        example geochronology, isotope geochemistry or </span><span
        style="color:rgb(0,0,0)">laser-ablation analyses. The successful
        candidate's research program will further develop the
        department's strengths in understanding deep-sea environments
        and processes. In addition to carrying out research, the
        candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching in the
        department, at</span><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0)">  </span><span
        style="color:rgb(0,0,0)">both undergraduate and masters levels
        with emphasis in mineralogy/petrography and analytical
        geochemistry, a well as supervise graduate students.</span></p>

    <p style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt"><span style="color:rgb(0,0,0)"><strong>Qualifications
          and personal qualities</strong><strong>:</strong></span></p>
    <ul>
      <li>
        <p style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt">The applicant must have a doctoral
          degree within geochemistry/petrology or equivalent
          qualifications.</p>
      </li>
      <li>
        <p style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt">The applicant must be able to work
          independently and in a structured manner and have the ability
          to cooperate with others.</p>
      </li>
      <li>
        <p style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt">The applicant must have
          considerably experience with ICP-MS and/or MC-ICP-MS
          techniques.</p>
      </li>
      <li>
        <p style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt">Experience with other
          mass-spectrometric techniques such as TIMS is an advantage.</p>
      </li>
      <li>
        <p style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt">Basic pedagogical training is a
          requirement for the position. The successful applicant will be
          offered training if this requirement is not met prior to
          employment.</p>

        <p style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt">The teaching language will
          normally be Norwegian. The successful applicant will be
          required to teach in Norwegian or another Scandinavian
          language within two years of being appointed.</p>
