design and implement climate change mitigation measures, and develop and apply methods for air quality control strategies including linkages to climate change. A secondary mission of the Section will lead research efforts to climate science, GHG inventory,
and air quality analyses to inform policy direction and advance the health-protection mission of the agency. The Section is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team responsible to design and implement two mitigation regulations related to Fluorinated
gases (F-gas): regulation for small container of automotive refrigerant (e.g., HFC-134a) and SF6 reduction for non-electrical and non-semiconductor sectors. F-gases are potent greenhouse gases (GHG) so additional control is needed to meet ARB’s F-gas reduction
plan. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">The successful candidate will advance in a timely fashion the development and implementation of the regulations for
small containers of automotive refrigerant and SF6 reduction for non-electric and non-semiconductor sectors to meet the emission reduction goals. This includes the conduct of technical and administrative activities in relation to the regulations. Demonstrated
experience with rule development and implementation, in-depth understanding of F-gas sources, emissions, and mitigation options; close relationships with industry, academics, and government agencies; understanding of scientific and engineering principles are
highly desirable. The position requires close interaction, coordination, and teamwork with a broad range of stakeholders, and conducts research projects, analyses, interpretation of data, preparation of briefing notes and official documents, and information
dissemination in support of these measures.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
