<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 15px;" class="">The
University of New Hampshire has a Research Scientist II
opening for a DOE-funded project. The successful candidate
will be located in Berkeley, California at the Lawrence
Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), but will work with
project members at multiple institutions on this
multi-disciplinary project. The project focuses on the carbon
cycle in thawing permafrost peatlands, related plant and
microbial processes, and climate feedbacks.
<span style="color:#222222;background:white" class="">The
position calls for expertise in numerical methods for
land-surface modeling; uncertainty quantification; parameter
estimation; and microbial biochemistry, abiotic, and plant
processes and interactions</span>.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 15px;" class="">The
successful candidate may focus on several relevant processes,
questions, and scales, related to coupled hydrological and
biogeochemical dynamics, nutrient and carbon interactions,
plant and microbe interactions, and climate feedbacks. We are
also interested in developing methods to evaluate, against
observations, process-level and emergent model responses, and
in developing model benchmarking approaches.</span></p>
