<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size: 11pt;">The Department of Geology at Kent State University seeks to hire a tenure-track faculty member in Hydrogeology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level starting August 2017. The
successful candidate must possess a Ph.D., have a strong background in the geological sciences, and be able to interface well with other faculty working in a variety of earth and environmental specialties. </span></p>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size: 11pt;">Potential areas of expertise include but are not limited to: physical hydrogeology, computational/numerical methods, groundwater modeling, hydrogeophysics, vadose zone hydrology, reactive
transport modeling, hydrogeologic applications of remote sensing, and engineering hydrogeology. Responsibilities will include advising M.S. and Ph.D. candidates; developing a strong, externally funded research program, and teaching undergraduate and graduate

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size: 11pt;">The Department of Geology has 12 full-time faculty members, 110 undergraduates and 35 graduate students. Current faculty research includes the areas of critical zone science, watershed
hydrology, surface water-groundwater interactions, climate change, tectonics and landform development, contaminant transport, water-mineral surface interactions, paleoceanography and paleolimnology, and paleontology.</span></p>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size: 11pt;">The department houses an array of analytical instruments that support applied and basic geologic research, including a Hitachi environmental SEM with EDAX, Energy Dispersive XRF spectrometer,
CHNS analyzer, X-ray diffractometer, Picarro Water Isotope Analyzer, UV-Visible spectrophotometer, Shimadzu TOC-L analyzer, and Dionex ICS-2100 chromatography system and access to the Ohio Supercomputer Center. Field resources include an on-campus well field
and multiple university-owned natural areas. There are excellent opportunities for cooperative research and teaching both within the Department and with faculty members in the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Public Health. Review of applications
