<p class="MsoNormal">The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at the University of Miami is seeking a Post Doctoral Associate to perform research in Atmospheric Chemistry in the laboratory of Dr. Cassandra Gaston. The incumbent will study trace
gas-particle interactions on dust and marine aerosols in the laboratory that are critical for budgets of nitrogen oxides, halogen cycling, and air quality. The goal of these measurements is to understand what factors influence the efficiency of trace gas-particle
interactions using authentic aerosol samples and laboratory mimics.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Specific duties include:</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">•Performing studies probing the reactive uptake of trace gases to laboratory generated particles using an aerosol kinetics flow reactor, particle sizing instrumentation, and a mass spectrometer, analysis and interpretation of data, writing
up results for publication, presenting results at conferences, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">•Prior experience using mass spectrometry is strongly preferred.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">•This is a one-year assignment.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Qualifications:</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">•PhD in atmospheric chemistry or analytical chemistry is required.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">•Training and experiences in atmospheric sampling techniques, and data interpretation and writing is preferred.</p>
