          investigate future interactions between the Greenland ice
          sheet (GrIS) and the climate system with the Community Earth
          System Model (CESM,

          coupled to the Community Ice Sheet Model version 2 (CISM2,

          CESM is a global climate model capable of realistic simulation
          of GrIS surface melt and refreezing. CISM is an ice sheet
          model that simulates the topography, velocity field and
          thermal state of ice sheets.</span><span

          interactive components of global climate model is a young and
          promising field of research. This project is timely as the
          GrIS is currently losing mass at an accelerated rate and its
          contribution to future sea level rise is one major impact of
          anthropogenic climate change.  This project will participate
          in the international Ice Sheet Model Intercomparison Project 6
          (ISMIP6).</span><span style="font-family:

          models, will modify the code where appropriate for specific
          research targets, and will analyze model output and available
          observations. He/she will evaluate the sensitivity of the GrIS
          to atmospheric and/or ocean forcing, will quantify the role of
          feedbacks in accelerating/decelerating GrIS mass loss, and
          will contribute to assess the timing and climatic impacts of
          Greenland deglaciation.</span><span
