We are in an exciting growth period in Geography at UNR – we have a new Geotechnologies Specialization and Minor and we are beginning to offer online GIS classes. We are adding specializations and minors in Climate, Water and Ecosystems; Climate Studies; Environmental
Policy and Management; and Globalization, Politics and Place. We are currently a faculty of 13 that includes interest in human and physical geography, with a number of us using GIS and spatial modeling techniques in our research. We are excited to see our
numbers increase to 14!<o:p class=""></o:p></div>

The Department of Geography at the University of Nevada, Reno, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in applied<span class="caps">GIS</span>. The successful candidate will apply geospatial technologies to solve contemporary societal/environmental
problems. The candidate will need to sustain an active funded research program and supervise graduate students at the masters and doctoral level. Primary teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate/graduate courses in <span class="caps">GIS</span>,
spatial statistics, and her/his specialty. The department standard teaching load is 3 courses a year. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in Geography or a related field by the time of appointment and a demonstrated capacity for research. <br class="">
