          size="3">The Atmospheric Sciences and Global Change Division (<a

          at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a
          highly motivated postdoctoral research associate for the
          research area of computational climate modeling. The
          successful applicant will collaborate with researchers at PNNL
          and other national laboratories to</font></p>
      <ol>
        <li><span
style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Cambria;font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:none"><span
              style="font-family:Calibri;font-size:medium">develop and
              implement test strategies to verify the numerical
              algorithms used in the parameterization schemes in a
              global climate model, with an initial focus on the aerosol
              life cycle, and</span></span></li>
        <li><span
style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:Cambria;font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:none"><span
              style="font-family:Calibri;font-size:medium">develop and
              evaluate methods for testing the reproducibility of the
              numerical solutions.</span></span></li>

          size="3">It will be essential for the candidate to commit to
          developing robust, clean, and maintainable testing codes and
          scripts, and creating detailed documentation of their
          functionalities Teamwork and strong communication skills for
          engaging with project teams at PNNL and other national
          laboratories will also be very important.</font></p>

          size="3"><b>Minimum Requirements</b></font></p>
      <ol>
        <li><font face="Calibri" size="3">Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences,
            computational physics/chemistry, geosciences, computer
            science, or applied mathematics from an accredited
            university within the past 5 years;</font></li>
        <li><font face="Calibri" size="3">Basic knowledge in a physical
            science;</font></li>
        <li><font face="Calibri" size="3">Basic understanding of
            numerical modeling techniques used in Earth sciences or
            computational physics/chemistry;</font></li>
        <li><font face="Calibri" size="3">Fluency in Fortran programing
            and Python/shell scripting;</font></li>
        <li><font face="Calibri" size="3">Experience with data analysis
            and visualization software;</font></li>
        <li><font face="Calibri" size="3">Excellent writing skill as
            demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications or technical
            reports;</font></li>
        <li><font face="Calibri" size="3">Strong communication skills;</font></li>
        <li><font face="Calibri" size="3">Strong team player with the
            willingness and ability to work independently.</font></li>

            modify, compile, and run complex weather, climate, or
            chemical transport models, or fluid dynamics codes;</font></li>

            high-performance computing environments;</font></li>

            using version control tools like Git or SVN.</font><b
