arch associate.=20<br>
The postdoc will lead research investigations into plant-soil interaction=<br>
s in native arid=20<br>
land and restored arid fields and the resilience of ecosystem functions i=<br>
n these=20<br>
ecosystems. The project will build on existing and ongoing research into =<br>
restoration of=20<br>
old fields in arid ecosystems. The questions motivating this research are=<br>
both applied=20<br>
and fundamental in scope, and the work will consist of a balance between =<br>
field and=20<br>
laboratory research.<br>
<br>
The ideal candidate will have both a strong publication record, mentoring=<br>
experience,=20<br>
and excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include soil=<br>
biogeochemical=20<br>
laboratory skills, molecular sequencing and data analysis, and experience=<br>
with field=20<br>
research. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in soil ecology, biogeoc=<br>
hemistry,=20<br>
ecosystem ecology, or a related field prior to appointment. Previous fiel=<br>
d experience in=20<br>
arid ecosystems is encouraged, but not a pre-requisite. Funding for this =<br>
position is=20<br>
available for one year beginning in December 2016.<br>
