> Hi All,
>
>
> A 3 year postdoctoral research position is open at Newcastle University, UK for an organic geochemist. The NERC-funded project is on understanding the role of anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) in past (marine) environments. I am looking for someone with a strong chemistry background as well as experience in method development (on GC). This position will expand upon known biomarkers of anammox (BHT isomer/ladderane lipids) as well as less developed biomarkers (e.g. alkane catagenetic products) to reach back in time to understand anammox's influence within the nitrogen cycle. The candidate will be involved in travelling to and interfacing with (international) partner institutes. I'm mostly based in the Netherlands at the moment so the person who fills this position must also have the skills to work independently.
