offering a position for a Research Assistant to carry out applied
research within its project on Flood Resilience.

ongoing work of the Flood Resilience Alliance with a specific
focus on measuring resilience and applying innovative

<p class="MsoNormal">Applicants should have a Master's degree (or
equivalent) in economics, statistics, geography or other relevant
field. There is potential for integrating the research with PhD
studies. It is highly desirable that the applicant has an
understanding of the literature regarding current issues related
to disaster risk management, climate change and resilience.
Knowledge of both quantitative (e.g. statistics, modeling, GIS,
risk analysis, stochastic simulation) and qualitative (e.g.
interview techniques) research methods is essential. Finally,
strong English language communication and writing skills are
necessary, and proficiency in other languages is welcome.<o:p></o:p></p>
