The Modeling and Emission Inventory (MEI) Unit performs and
reviews air quality-related analyses for a variety of air
programs to meet Federal and State regulatory requirements,
including state implementation plans, stationary source
permitting, mobile source control programs, National
Environmental Policy Act actions, and hazardous waste site
studies. The analyses include air quality impact modeling,
emission modeling, meteorological analysis, and emission
inventory development. The spatial scales of analyses include
near-field, far-field, and regional scale. Emission inventory
work includes the compilation and development of comprehensive
multi-pollutant inventories suitable for use in air quality
modeling and conformity. Emission inventory development work
includes on-road and non-road mobile sources, area sources, and
small stationary sources not included in the Division's Air
Pollution Emission Notice program. Meteorological applications
include review of the adequacy of meteorology for near-field
modeling and evaluation of output from meteorological models for
regional modeling purposes. This unit also exists to provide
technical work products and analysis to internal and external

This position functions primarily as an air pollutant emission
inventory specialist. This position exists to apply scientific

study, and solution of air pollution problems by designing,

scientific atmospheric modeling team that designs, applies,
develops, and implements integrated air quality modeling systems
that: 1) generate data using deterministic and/or stochastic
modeling systems that determine if a given source of air
