            and Environmental Systems Institute (EESI) at Penn State has
            an immediate opening for a data manager to work on the
            NSF-funded project, Susquehanna Shale Hills Critical Zone
            Observatory (CZO). The successful candidate will have or
            need to develop a strong understanding of relational
            databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.). This person
            will need to know or will need to develop the knowledge to
            set up databases with all requisite coding. The successful
            candidate will also have a solid understanding of user
            interfaces in order to move data and metadata in and out of
            the database in a useable form. The successful candidate
            will also have or need to develop knowledge of such
            languages as PHP, JavaScript, Python, etc. GIS knowledge
            would be helpful. Ancillary duties could include website
            development, helping with figures using Adobe Photoshop or
            Illustrator, running online seminars via Adobe Connect and
            WebEx, and general audio-visual assistance and
            troubleshooting. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree
            or higher plus one or more years of related experience, or
            an equivalent combination of education and experience. This
            is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of
            hire with excellent possibility of renewal. This position
            will allow the candidate to have interactions with the
            national data management team for CZOs.</span></div>
