The School of Natural Resources (SNR) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln=<br>
(UNL) Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) is seeking app=<br>
licants for a tenure-track position in Spatial Science and Geographic Infor=<br>
mation Systems (GIS) at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This =<br>
12-month position shall have appointments in teaching and research and is e=<br>
xpected to lead and coordinate a nationally-recognized research and educati=<br>
on program in GIS and spatial analysis. This faculty member will provide GI=<br>
S leadership within CALMIT and SNR and research will interface with various=<br>
centers, units, and initiatives at UNL and state agencies.<br>

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in a relevant field of study (e.g., geograp=<br>
hy, ecology, or natural resources) at time of appointment, a strong record =<br>
of research and scholarly activities in the field of spatial science with a=<br>
n emphasis in applied GIS for natural resources and agriculture including p=<br>
ublications in peer-reviewed journals and evidence of development of propos=<br>
als for externally-funded grants, experience and demonstrated commitment to=<br>
excellence in teaching, and a proven ability to communicate effectively wi=<br>
th students, professionals, and the general public.<br>

Preferred Qualifications: Relevant experience beyond the terminal Ph.D. de=<br>
gree in the use of GIS pursuing inter-disciplinary research related to natu=<br>
ral resources, agriculture, and/or environmental monitoring. Experience in =<br>
remote sensing, GIS-based environmental modeling, spatial analysis, global =<br>
positioning systems, field data collection, computer programming (e.g., Pyt=<br>
hon), and spatial data bases.<br>
