This position is located in the Air Pollution Control
Division and works as part of a Department-wide team that is
dedicated to protecting Colorado's public health and
environment. The position functions as an air quality
scientist and forecaster; however, the position may perform
other duties, as necessary and as assigned, that are
consistent with the purpose of the Unit in support of the
Division. The position exists to apply scientific research
methods, theory, and principles to the identification, study,
and solution of air pollution problems; issue air quality
forecasts and pollution advisories statewide; apply and
validate meteorological methods for forecasting air pollution
levels; develop spatially and temporally complex models of air
pollution within subregions of Colorado; research the
climatology of air quality episodes; apply mathematical and
computer models of air pollution dispersion to predict impacts
of proposed activities, including wildland fire and emergency
response situations; communicate the results of this work in
reports, publications, and presentations. Among other duties,
the position collaborates with others to report current
