<p class="MsoBodyText" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The successful candidate will facilitate lab-based and field-based research and teaching for the Environmental Engineering & Science (EES) Graduate Program, maintain and troubleshoot
the operation and shared utilization of sophisticated analytical equipment located in multiple facilities, and oversee and ensure the overall cleanliness and working-order of EES laboratories in partnership with UI Facilities Management and IIHR – Hydroscience
& Engineering shops and staff. The position will serve as the administrative liaison to IIHR – Hydroscience & Engineering for the procurement of equipment and supplies, reconciliation of expenditures and research computing needs in support of grants and contracts.
This position will also serve as the Chemical Health & Safety Officer for the EES Program which includes understanding and modifying safety and chemical hygiene protocols in accordance with UI Environmental Health and Safety Office protocols and will facilitate
interactions with non-program clients and collaborators in consultation with EES faculty in support of overall research success. The candidate will anticipate needs and discern opportunities for research growth through active participation in EES faculty research
group meetings, EES seminars and other EES activities. Note that this position is advertised at 100% but an appointment of less than 100% would be considered, if desired, for the most qualified candidate.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

and experience is required. At least two years of relevant experience with using, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment and instrumentation utilized in Environmental Engineering and Science Program research and three to five years’ experience using Environmental
Engineering and Science Program research methodologies, tools, and techniques is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of safety and environmental regulations concerning the operation of research laboratories is also required.
