The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alabama has an=<br>
opening for a full-<br>
time postdoctoral associate. The position requires a PhD in Oceanography,=<br>
Marine Science, or=20<br>
Aquatic Chemistry, or similar field, and expertise in Nitrogen Cycling an=<br>
d familiarity with=20<br>
membrane inlet mass spectrometry and or molecular techniques.<br>
<br>
The successful applicant will join a newly funded study of nitrogen cycli=<br>
ng in the Gulf. We will be=20<br>
combining molecular techniques and N cycling rate measurements that will =<br>
ultimately provide=20<br>
information relevant to oil impact on coastal ecosystems. Highly motivat=<br>
ed candidates with (i)=20<br>
demonstrated record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and (ii) wit=<br>
h strong analytical=20<br>
techniques are encouraged to apply and to incorporate their interests int=<br>
o the project. The post-<br>
doc will work closely and under the direction of Dr. Behzad Mortazavi at =<br>
the Dauphin Island Sea=20<br>
Lab. The position is initially for 12 months, beginning as soon as it can=<br>
be filled with the=20<br>
possibility of renewal for additional years.<br>
