            Global Change Science</b></a> seeks two (2) <b
          style="padding:0px;margin:0px">Postdoctoral Associates</b> <span
          style="padding:0px;margin:0px">to work with the <b
            style="padding:0px;margin:0px">Joint Program on the Science
            and Policy of Global Change</b> to expand the agricultural
          model capabilities of the MIT Integrated Global System
          Modeling (IGSM) framework. </span>The postdoctoral researchers
        will each participate in the development, implementation,
        calibration and evaluation of a crop model within the Global
        Land System of the IGSM. One postdoc will focus on crop
        biogeophysics (e.g., phenology and evapotranspiration),
        productivity and water demand, while the other postdoc will
        focus on biogeochemistry (i.e. terrestrial carbon and nitrogen
        dynamics) with attention to greenhouse gas fluxes from
        agriculture. These two postdocs will be expected to work in
        close collaboration, and to actively engage with developers of
        global crop and ecosystem models within the community-at-large.
        The postdocs will also work among faculty, research staff,
        postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students in an
        interdisciplinary group that includes climate scientists and
        economists.</div>

        Requirements </h2>
      <div style="padding:0.5em
0px;margin:0px;color:rgb(57,58,59);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">A
        Ph.D. in <span style="padding:0px;margin:0px">agronomy, ecology,
          plant biology, biometeorology, or related field; knowledge of
          crop science; and experience with scientific programming in
          Fortran, C, and C++. Expertise in crop simulation modeling
          and/or crop model development is particularly desired. In
          addition, preference will be given to applicants with
          expertise in biogeophysical and/or biogeochemical land models
          used in coupled Earth-system frameworks. </span></div>
