will each participate in the development, implementation,
calibration and evaluation of a crop model within the Global
Land System of the IGSM. One postdoc will focus on crop
biogeophysics (e.g., phenology and evapotranspiration),
productivity and water demand, while the other postdoc will
focus on biogeochemistry (i.e. terrestrial carbon and nitrogen
dynamics) with attention to greenhouse gas fluxes from
agriculture. These two postdocs will be expected to work in
close collaboration, and to actively engage with developers of
global crop and ecosystem models within the community-at-large.
The postdocs will also work among faculty, research staff,
postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students in an
interdisciplinary group that includes climate scientists and
economists.</div>
