Postdoctoral Fellow position at Geophysical Institute

There is a vacancy for a postdoctoral
fellow position at Geophysical Institute within Climate Modelling.

STERCP grant that focuses on the development of super climate
models.

The simulation and prediction of
climate remains a challenge. The position will focus on applying
two alternative methods – flux-correction and super climate
modelling – to enhance climate prediction and reduce uncertainties
in climate change projections. A super climate model is an optimal
combination of different models that influence one another as they
run. Our recent work has shown the potential of this approach to
reduce model errors. The aim of this position will be to use these
two different approaches to understand how model errors impact the
simulation and prediction of climate.
