Climate change has the potential to impact air quality resulting in important consequences for human health. Climate change will likely have a disproportionate effect on particular geographic
locations, communities, and demographic groups. Air pollution exposure patterns in the future will differ from current exposure patterns due to a number of factors including changes in temperature, ambient air pollutant concentrations, population distribution,
housing and land use, and human activity patterns. Research is needed to explore the various factors that may contribute to altered air pollutant exposure patterns due to climate change in support of the Air, Climate, and Energy (ACE) program. This project
will examine the effects of climate change on extreme events (e.g., stagnation events, wildfires) that impact air quality as well as the effects of climate change on human or population behaviors that impact exposure. These outcomes can then be used to quantify
the health impacts of climate change that result from changes in air pollution exposures.
