                      PURPOSE:<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><br>

                      A Post-doctoral research associate position is
                      available at Clemson University to work and lead a
                      recently funded project that will investigate the
                      consequences of different fuel reduction
                      techniques, as watershed management practices
                      against wildfire, on the exports of dissolved
                      organic matter (DOM) from forested watersheds and
                      associated biogeochemical processes and impacts on
                      drinking water treatability and supplies. This
                      project seeks to connect basic and applied
                      sciences, engineering, forestry, hydrology, and
                      chemistry to identify forest management practices
                      to protect our potable source waters due to
                      climate change. The associate will work in an
                      interdisciplinary team environment, interacting
                      with the research groups of Drs. Tanju Karanfil
                      and Alex Chow and other researchers in US Forest
                      Services and SC Department of Natural Resources. <span

                      1.  Plan and conduct assigned research tasks
                      independently while working collaboratively with
                      Clemson faculty, staffs, post docs, and students,
                      as well as US Forest Service and SC DNR

                      2.  Train, mentor, and lead graduate and
                      undergraduate students working on the project.

                      and field sample collections after prescribed burn
