                      Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (<span
                        class="caps">CIRES</span>) at the University of
                      Colorado Boulder is seeking a Professional
                      Research Assistant to provide scientific and
                      technical meteorological expertise.to develop and
                      transition probabilistic hazard information into
                      forecast operations, with particular focus on
                      heavy rainfall and heavy snowfall. The incumbent
                      will interact with<span
                        class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><span
                        class="caps">NWS</span><span
                        class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>SOOs,<span
                        class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><span
                        class="caps">NCEP</span><span

                      generation and use of probabilistic precipitation
                      information. The position is based at the Weather

                      duties of this position are:</p>

                      calibrated probabilistic guidance for flash flood
                      hazards; (b) using feature-based post-processing
                      approaches to extract and present information

                      placed on applicants with considerable experience
                      in areas of operational forecasts and warnings,

                      prediction systems, and creation/dissemination of

                      and written communication skills are highly
                      desired and a strong ability to work in a
