The mission of CAICE is to transform our ability to accurately predict the impact of aerosols on climate and the environment by bringing real-world chemical complexity into the laboratory. To accomplish this task, CAICE has assembled a team of scientists in atmospheric, physical, and analytical chemistry, chemical biology, as well as chemical, biological, and physical oceanography from eight institutions across the United States, along works with a number of domestic and international academic collaborators and industrial partners. The incumbent reports to, and works in close partnership with, the Director/Principal Investigator and the Management Team to administer this large, technically complex, and continuously evolving research center. The MD serves as manager and central administrator for the Center, acts as liaison between CAICE and NSF, and facilitates communication between members of the Center. The ability to understand, and/or the willingness and ability to learn, the basic scientific concepts that CAICE research explores is a key element of a successful candidate; therefore, a working knowledge of general scientific principles in chemistry and/or environmental science are highly preferred. The CAICE Managing Director has the opportunity to use and develop their scientific and administrative skills through regular interaction with the equivalent personnel in 8 other Centers for Chemical Innovation, ongoing and emerging partnerships with the chemical industry, and a variety of leading experts in chemistry and environmental sciences.</span></p><br><p dir="ltr"
