We currently seek to hire creative and exceptional scientists to develop and carry out world-leading research in areas that complement
and strengthen the on-going research at the Laboratory.

The Geophysical Laboratory is a unique and vibrant research enclave that fosters an environment in which each Staff Scientist has the freedom to explore the most compelling scientific questions. Unconstrained by traditional academic boundaries, the science

areas of intense interest: Earth and Planetary Science, Astrobiology and the Origins of Life, and the Chemistry and Physics of Materials. Synergies among these interest areas, as well as links to many closely related research pursuits at Carnegie’s co-located
Department of Terrestrial Magnetism, provide each Geophysical Laboratory scientist with exceptional opportunities.

Candidates are asked to submit a cover letter, a CV with a list of publications, a statement of research interests, and the names and contact information for at least three references. Consideration of applications will begin November 1, 2015 and will continue
