Post-Doctoral Research Associate<br>
The Department of Plant Biology is accepting applicants for Post-Doctoral Research Associates<span style="color:#1f497d">
</span>for one-year appointments (renewable up to 3 years). The Department seeks researchers to<br>
promote NSF’s goal of broadening the participation of traditionally underrepresented and<span style="color:#1f497d">
</span>diverse groups.<br>
<br>
Post-Doctoral Research Associates are expected to be in residence for the duration of the<span style="color:#1f497d">
</span>appointment and are expected to conduct research in an established lab with some independent<br>
research encouraged. A faculty mentor will be assigned.<br>
<br>
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree is required. Individuals working<span style="color:#1f497d">
</span>toward a Ph.D. will be considered, but candidate’s dissertation must be defended and deposited<br>
prior to their appointment.<br>

• curriculum vitae;<br>
• research areas of interest and specific research plans (if known)<br>
• graduate transcripts (copies are acceptable, but official transcripts may be requested at a<span style="color:#1f497d">
</span>later date);<br>
• contact information for three professional references who can emphasize the unique<span style="color:#1f497d">
</span>perspective the candidate might contribute to the candidate’s field; and<br>
• possible faculty mentors in Department that fit with candidate’s interests (if known).<br>
When reviewing applications, faculty reviewers will evaluate candidates according to the<span style="color:#1f497d">
</span>following criteria:<br>
• academic accomplishments,<br>
• strength of their research proposal,<br>
• potential for faculty careers that will contribute to fostering diversity and equal<span style="color:#1f497d">
</span>opportunity,<br>
• identification of appropriate research oversight mentor and the mentor’s potential to work<span style="color:#1f497d">
</span>productively with the candidate,<br>
• candidate’s commitment to equity and diversity in higher education.<br>
