The Department of Environmental Science in the College of Arts &amp; =<br>
Sciences at American University invites applications for a full-time, =<br>
tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning =<br>
August 1, 2016.<br>

Candidates must possess their Ph.D. at the time of applica<span tabindex="0" class="aBn"><span class="aQJ">tion and those</span></span> =<br>
with post-doctoral experience will be the most competitive. A successful =<br>
candidate will have a strong record of research and potential for, or =<br>
evidence of, excellence in teaching. We will consider all areas of =<br>
environmental science research but we are particularly interested in =<br>
those working in applied climatology, urban ecology, or ecosystem =<br>
services, and applying computational or quantitative approaches. The =<br>
position also offers opportunities to collaborate with a diverse and =<br>
interdisciplinary group of environmental and sustainability researchers =<br>
across the university. The candidate will be expected to teach and =<br>
mentor both undergraduate and graduate students, and also participate in =<br>
departmental, college, and university activities and service.<br>
