EPA's National Center for Environmental Assessment (NCEA) announced a<br>
post-doc opportunity to work with a team of scientists assessing<br>
anthropogenic influences on aquatic resources:<br>

NCEA is responsible for scientific assessment activities related to the<br>
potential risks of environmental activities and stressors and the potenti=<br>
al<br>
causes of biological degradation in aquatic systems. These activities<br>
provide key scientific support for EPA policy and regulatory decisions.<br>
Assessment activities are generally related to aquatic resources and<br>
typically have significant implications for national and international<br>
environmental policy development and implementation. NCEA develops logica=<br>
l,<br>
credible ecological assessment documents that reflect current scientific<br>
principles and risk and causal assessment methodologies. Participants wil=<br>
l<br>
have the opportunity to collaborate with EPA scientists on projects relev=<br>
ant<br>
to assessing and managing anthropogenic impacts to water resources.<br>
Activities may involve: =95Scoping and problem formulation including the<br>
development of conceptual models and analysis plans to guide ecological<br>
assessments related to the management of nutrients in aquatic ecosystems.=<br>

=95Reviewing and analyzing field and laboratory research results to, deri=<br>
ve,<br>
integrate, and synthesize information.. =95Developing innovative methods =<br>
to<br>
synthesize literature results, such as weight of evidence approaches,<br>
