for the design and implementation of critical in-house field studies using innovative research tools, and management of important extramural research contracts to advise the agency on the state and performance of implemented regulations. In particular, the
Section is responsible for the management and application of ARB’s state-of-the-art mobile measurement platforms to study real-world emission and exposure for criteria pollutants and toxic air contaminants, as well as a groundbreaking Statewide GHG Monitoring
Network for GHG emissions research.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="mso-margin-top-alt:9.6pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:9.6pt;margin-left:0in;line-height:11.25pt;vertical-align:baseline">
<span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#505050">The selected candidate will be tasked with conducting analytical research to help improve our understanding of emissions from transportation sources, and their impacts on personal
exposures in various microenvironments. Responsibilities will also include designing and implementing field studies to measure and analyze air pollutant emissions from transportation and other source sectors, and use the information to study long-term trends
in sector-wide emissions and regional air quality. Staff will also have the opportunity to apply low-cost and cutting-edge research tools to study air pollution sources, and simplifying the data to understand their air pollution and exposure implications.
Proven experience in analyzing large datasets, statistical and numerical analysis, and modeling expertise in air quality, exposure, source apportionment and similar applications are desirable.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

research on criteria and toxic air pollutants within the Section. The candidate will be ideally positioned to connect air quality research in the policy framework, provide scientific recommendations for land use and sustainable communities planning, and advise
the Agency on air pollution and exposure research and program planning efforts. Candidates must have a good understanding of ARB’s air pollution mitigation efforts for the transportation sector, and a broad understanding of the land use guidance and the sustainable
communities program. Other responsibilities include managing air pollution and exposure related research projects, publishing and presenting findings at scientific venues, advising the agency on the impacts of adopted rules, prioritizing sources sectors for
research and air pollution mitigating efforts, and building strategic research partnerships with national and international stakeholders.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
