<p class="MsoNormal">The University of Birmingham is continuing to
make strategic investments across its research base in the School
of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences. We are seeking to
appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Environmental
Science/Environmental Health. Applications are invited from
candidates to strengthen further and expand our activities in one
of the following areas:<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Air pollution and atmospheric chemistry</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Environmental nanoscience</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Meteorology and climate</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Persistent organic pollutants</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Willingness to collaborate across disciplinary
boundaries is an essential pre-requisite. Teaching
responsibilities will relate primarily to Masters courses in the
Environmental Health and Air Pollution fields and candidates
should have a background enabling them to make a strong
contribution to teaching as well as established excellence in
research. Evidence of a strong track record in publishing work of
the highest academic quality and impact is essential, and (for a
senior appointment) obtaining external research funding is
important. In addition to demonstrating (or showing potential for)
internationally excellent research, applicants must have a
commitment to delivering excellent teaching and learning at all
levels (i.e. undergraduate, postgraduate, and higher research
degrees) and communicating the relevance and impact of their
research to stakeholders. The successful candidate will also be
involved in administrative tasks (appropriate to their appointment
grade) to support delivery of research and teaching within the
School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Permanent position<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Lecturer:- Starting salary is normally in the
range £38,511 to £45,954 .<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Senior Lecturer: - Starting salary is normally
in the range £47,328 to £54,841.<o:p></o:p></p>
