                  Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental
                  Sciences (<span class="caps">CIRES</span>) at the
                  University of Colorado Boulder has an opening for a<span

                  scientist”) working with the Coastal Sciences Team at
                  NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information
                  (<span class="caps">NCEI</span>). The successful
                  candidate must have a passion for data. He or she will
                  work directly with the Historical Hazards lead
                  scientist to manage the foremost authoritative
                  databases on global tsunami, earthquake and volcanic
                  eruption events. This includes identifying, assessing,
                  and entering data and information into historical
                  databases and generating post-event reports and hazard
                  assessments. The new hire will be part of a Coastal
                  Science Team and will assist with managing data,
                  generating products, and supporting outreach efforts.
                  Data streams include but are not limited to coastal
                  and deep-ocean water level data, images, video, and
                  historic media. This effort directly supports NOAA’s
                  hazard research, forecast, warning and mitigation
                  activities.</p>

                  collaborative research with<span

                  the seafloor and subsurface. This includes developing
                  consistent, quality controlled data sets, applying

                  support informed decision-making and aid in the
                  understanding of coastal and ocean conditions and
                  their impact on the environment, economies, and
